From the President

On behalf of the Amarillo Police Officers Association, I would like to say thank you for visiting us. The APOA represents the hard-working officers of the Amarillo Police Department. These brave men and women not only suit-up every day to keep our city safe; they live and play here too. Our members are not just police officers, but they are also husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, mentors, coaches, neighbors and friends. This new site is our way of using technology to reach everyone that supports us. Please explore it and let us know what you think.

The APOA works for the officers that work for you. We are equal parts fraternal and charitable. Our organization hosts members’ events as well as community events. We are proud to have partnered with so many wonderful organizations over the years such as Coffee Memorial Blood Center, One Chair at a Time, CASA, and Toys for Tots. Working with these organizations allow us to give back to the community that we love so much outside of our regular duties as police officers.

Lastly, I want to take a moment to recognize the citizens of Amarillo. As a life-long resident and third generation police officer here, I may be slightly biased towards Amarillo. But as I watch the national news and correspond with friends and other officers around the country, I realize how blessed we are to live here. No organization, or no individual, is perfect. But I certainly think we have something special in the Yellow City. As it relates to law enforcement, I attribute the success and cooperation in our community to the hard-working, friendly, tough-as-nails citizens, and a truly professional group of dedicated, well-trained officers. We know you put a lot of trust in us, and the officers in this organization do not take that responsibility lightly. The APOA thanks you, Amarillo, for your love and support over the years. This is the greatest city in the world to live and work as a police officer. Thank you for the opportunity to serve.

Sincerely,

Toby Hudson
