APOA members help deliver coats for the winter

On a cool November evening in downtown Amarillo, APOA members help sort and hand out winter coats.  The Downtown Coat Drive event was held at 'In This Moment Parties & Events' at 707 S Polk.  The coat drive was organized by Amarillo business man and community activist Keith Greys.  After presenting his idea to organizations around town, including to the Amarillo Police Officers Association, The APOA teamed up to purchase $1,000 worth of winter coats for Amarillo children in need.  Member officers then helped families find sizes and styles for the kids.  Families also received hand-made blankets, stocking hats, and gift cards collected by Greys.  APD officers will also deliver a batch of coats to a local elementary school later this week.  We were excited to be part of such a fantastic event.  Thank you to 'In This Moment Parties & Events' for hosting us.
